\r\n\r\nMaría Vasquez Callo-Müller is a\r\nresearcher and consultant on digital trade issues. She is part of the Trade Law\r\n4.0 project, working as a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Lucerne.\r\nHer research focuses on the regulation of\r\ndigital technologies and trade, particularly in the areas of intellectual\r\nproperty rights, data governance, and digital trade.\r\nShe regularly consults\r\non digital trade and data policies\r\nfor international organizations. Desmond O. Oriakhogba is an\r\nAssociate Professor in the University of the Western Cape, South Africa. He is\r\nalso an adjunct Professor at the University of Strathmore Law School, Nairobi,\r\nKenya, and an independent consultant with the World\r\nIntellectual Property Organization (WIPO) under which capacity\r\nhe tutors in WIPO Academy’s Distance Learning Program and supervises\r\npostgraduate research in the WIPO and Africa University (Zimbabwe) Joint Masters\r\nin IP program. Desmond is a\r\nQueen Elizabeth Scholar (Canada); and an associate editor of the South African\r\nIP Law Journal and African Journal of Legal Studies. He continues to\r\ncollaborate with the Chair till date. Desmond is part of several high-level international\r\nacademic networks of researchers, consultants, advocates and\r\nacademics including the Open Africa Innovation Research (Open AIR) Network,\r\nGoverning Climate Innovation – Africa (a Cambridge Global Challenges project,\r\nUniversity of Cambridge), and the Expert Network on the\r\nRight to Research in International Copyright (PIJIP, American University\r\nWashington College of Law, USA). He also actively offers expert advice on\r\nnational IP law and policy reform processes in Nigeria and South Africa. He is\r\nactively engaged by the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade\r\nand Investment (FMITI,\r\nNigeria) through the Nigerian Office for Trade Negotiations as expert\r\nconsultant/stakeholder on IP rights in bilateral and multilateral trade\r\nnegotiations involving Nigeria.
